We are excited to announce DataForge and IntelliTrend Mobile Version 7.10. This release delivers a reworked dashboard system, new customization options for list views, full template support in the Zabbix Client, and significant improvements to DataForge Reporting. With more flexibility, better organization, and clearer reporting, version 7.10 makes it easier than ever to keep track of what matters most.
Dashboard rework
We’re excited to introduce a fully reworked dashboard experience with this release. The old, static layout has been replaced with a responsive, grid-based layout that gives you maximum flexibility and control over your dashboard. The new dashboard does now allow you to freely adjust the position and size of your widgets, enabling you to customize the dashboard exactly to your needs.
Create multiple dashboards
With the new dashboard rework, you are no longer limited to a single dashboard. Instead of fitting everything into a single dashboard, you can now create as many dashboards as you want, allowing you to build dedicated views for all your use cases.
Dashboard synchronization in DataForge
For DataForge users, dashboards will now be saved on your account and synchronized between devices. With this change, you do no longer have to worry about losing your dashboard configuration when switching devices or clearing your app storage.
Mobile & Desktop dashboards
Building a dashboard that works as good on mobile as on desktop is challenging and a near impossible task. That’s why we’re now differentiating between mobile and desktop dashboards in DataForge.
With this change, DataForge users can optimize their dashboard without worrying about how it would look on a desktop or mobile device. Every DataForge user will start with two default dashboards: one mobile and one desktop dashboard. Based on the current device of the user, the correct dashboard type will be selected.
While it’s still possible to select a desktop dashboard on mobile, it is not ideal. When still doing so, we offer and recommend to convert the desktop dashboard to a mobile dashboard first. Doing that will copy the desktop dashboard to a new mobile dashboard which can be customized without having to worry about how it would look on desktop.
New problem list widget
Alongside the dashboard rework, we’ve added a new Problem list widget. A new way to get a overview of the most recent problems on your Zabbix server.
The widget displays the latest N problems, with N being configurable. To help you focus on what matters most, it also includes several filtering options:
- Severities: Filter out severities you are not interested in.
- Host and host group: Include only problems of specified hosts or host groups.
- Name: Display only problems that contain a certain substring in their name.
- Tags: Use Zabbix tags to filter problems by category, function, or custom labels.
New list layout modes
We’ve added more flexibility to how you view information across all list pages by introducing three layout modes: Normal, Compact card, and Compact list.
- Normal: The default mode you’re already familiar with, displaying items as standard cards with clear organization and spacing.
- Compact card: A denser version of the normal card layout, showing the same information but in a more space-efficient format.
- Compact list: The highest information density available. Instead of cards, items are displayed as simple list entries, allowing you to see more data at once without scrolling.
You can choose the layout mode that works best for you on each page individually, making it easy to customize the view to the type of information you’re working with. For even more convenience, you can also set your preferred default layout mode in the settings page to ensure every list starts the way you like it.
Template support in Zabbix Client
With this release, the Zabbix Client now fully supports templates. We’ve added a new Templates page in the side menu, where you can browse and filter all your templates.
Each template has its own details page, providing a complete overview of its configuration. From here, you can see all the configured objects for the template, including macros, items, triggers, graphs, dashboards and discoveries. For even deeper insight, you can view template item and template trigger configurations in detail, just like you already can with actual triggers and items.
DataForge Reporting: PDF improvements
We’ve continued to enhance the reporting experience in DataForge, with a strong focus on PDF rendering. This release introduces new widgets, major improvements to SLA reporting, and better readability across reports.
New overview widgets
The existing Overview section in the PDF report has been replaced with two new widgets: Problem overview and SLA overview. These widgets deliver a high-level summary of all problem or SLA widgets in the report, giving you a consolidated overview. Since the overview is now provided through standalone widgets, you have full control over where to place them.
SLA widget enhancements
The SLA widget has received significant updates to make it more useful and actionable:
- You can now filter for specific services after selecting SLAs, giving you more control over what’s shown in the report.
- PDF reports now display SLA evaluations per service, instead of one combined evaluation across all services.
- The SLA evaluation design has been redesigned with a clearer scale, making it easier to understand downtime relative to the service level objective (SLO).
- We’ve added a new metric called Tolerance, which represents the difference between the configured SLO and 100% availability. This makes it easier to see how much downtime is acceptable before a SLA fails.
Better readability across widgets
In addition to the new features, many existing widgets have been improved for PDF rendering. These improvements add more information and increase readability and clarity.
Many more improvements
Alongside these great new features, this update also comes with tons of improvements and bug fixes, such as:
- Significantly improved the out of box experience for new DataForge managers and users
- Improved configuration experience for the Host numeric item widget and Host text item widget
- Improved the performance on all list pages in the app
- many more improvements & bug fixes!
